Maker Profile: SALT Studio

Whilst we're closed, we want to do all we can to support the amazing community of makers and small businesses who we are lucky enough to work with, we will be sharing work on our social media and blogs, introducing you to some of the brilliant makers we stock.

Today we get to talk about SALT Studios, run by Francesca from her studio in London. SALT produces a range of bright, colourful terrazzo pots. SALT is a new stockist for us, and we're so pleased to have them in - they look great!

"Salt Studios was formed in 2017 by Francesca as a side business to support her painting practice, where she explored her interest of process and materiality. Overtime this naturally crossed over into her product designs. As Salt Studios organically grew Francesca now runs the business full-time in South East London." - Salt Studios

We've just got the full range of plant pots in from SALT, in a range of beautiful colours, with cacti included! They look great!

During the lockdown, Francesca has moved her brilliant courses online, so you can learn how to make a terrazzo pot:

"Follow my online tutorial and learn how to pigment Jesmonite with your own choice of colours and make your own unique terrazzo chips in the process! With your personalised coloured terrazzo chips, you'll cast your own plant pot and pour your creations into moulds. I’ll show you how to hand-sand your plant pots to reveal the terrazzo patten and the final steps of sealing." - SALT Studios

You can find more about SALT through the links below, and while we are closed we encourage you to buy direct from her site where she is still shipping. If you join her pot making workshops, we'd love to see what you make!
